Welcome to our MIS 766 Final Project
The goal for our project is to create a new database for a local branch of a major insurance company.
A recently created department will use this database to centrally store, and then conveniently access, the wide variety of information required by adjusters when processing estimates provided by local repair facilities. This information is currently kept in separate locations and using different technologies, causing a great deal of inefficiency in the adjuster process.
By creating a new database for this company we should be able to dramatically streamline the process of handling repair estimates, which in turn will lower costs. By reducing data inaccuracies this new database will also improve processing time for claims, which should lead to increased customer satisfaction. Finally, by organizing and centralizing their information, the insurance company hopes this new database will also help identify potential sources of fraud.
